Whatsapp says its digital payments are an open model that will allow it to add more partners in the future.
There will be no fees for consumers to use the payment service, but the merchant will pay some processing fee to received payment from the consumer.
The most benefit of WhatsApp pay is the user can payment from his/her credit card also, the user needs to add his/her Debit/Credit card to their WhatsApp account.
The transaction is more secure with either fingerprint or six-digit PIN. The company says it will support Debit or Credit card from Banco do Brasil, Nubank, and Sicredi, and it’s working with Brazilian Payments processor Cielo.
WhatsApp launched a closed Beta version in India in 2018.
The company has already been trialing the payment services in India, where it has 400M users.
However, the company efforts to launch WhatsApp Pay in India have been held up for two years by regulators.
